What about green electricity suppliers?
Britain’s six main suppliers offer green/renewable energy plans, there are also green electricity suppliers such as Ecotricity and Good Energy who specialise in renewable energy/green plans by sourcing alternative means of supplying electricity to customers.

Green electricity plans do differ in their “greenness” with two main types of plans available. Green energy suppliers/plans match some or all of the electricity you buy with the purchase of renewable energy, which the supplier makes on your behalf.

The supplier details how much electricity in your supply is renewable and from where it is sourced. The other option is where you pay a small premium on your tariff to fund renewable electricity schemes. Your electricity supply does not change but you are contributing to future renewable initiatives.
